What Should I Expect?

Worship, the service of God’s people, is very important at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Worship is more of a verb than a noun because it is the action of God’s people assembled together. Thus, worship is not the only thing that happens when we gather on Sunday, the principal day of the week for Christian worship. While worship remains extremely important on Sunday, the focus of the service is not on ourselves, but upon God. The congregation gathers on Sunday for God’s gracious activity, mainly experienced in the hearing and living of God’s Word and in the thanksgiving for and sharing Christ’s meal of bread and wine where all are welcome.

The service is comprised of four main parts: gathering and praise, hearing God’s Word, sharing the meal, and being sent back into the world in which we live. What does not matter in worship is what you wear. What does matter is that you are there to experience what God intends for your life. The service,easy to follow, has music of many varieties, readings, a well prepared and preached sermon, and a connection the God who loves you and with people around you. We are traditional and contemporary, formal yet casual. More than anything else we strive to be hospitable, real and authentic.

Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30

If your coming from:

Carrollton, KY or Butler Park- Take 227 to US 42. Turn left onto 42. You should be heading west. Continue through Carrollton following Highway 36 which follows the river. St. Peter is located about 5 miles on your left on Highway 36 West.

Madison, Indiana or Clifty Falls St. Park- Cross the Ohio River Bridge into Kentucky. When you get off the bridge turn left going back towards the river. Follow ,KY Highway 36, approximately 4 miles. St. Peter is located on the right on Highway 36.

Bedford, KY-Follow 421 into Milton. Turn right on to KY Highway 36. Follow the river approximately 4 miles. St. Peter is located on the right on Highway 36.

Milton, KY-Follow KY ,Highway 36, approximately 4 miles. St. Peter is located on your right on Highway 36.
