| Our congregation is
participating as a pilot congregation in Synod's "Fan Into Flame"
financial appeal for missions. This initiative is designed to support
the "Ablaze!" goal of bringing the saving Gospel message of Jesus Christ
to 100 million people. As a district we intend to start at least 50 new
churches, assist and develop outreach and church planters with the
intent of providing cross-cultural mission work among immigrant groups,
recruit and train missionaries, and to reach out to the 3.8 million
un-churched Minnesotans through congregation revitalization. We will
strive to support this goal with our prayers, actions and finances. |

DISCOVERY CLASS |
|
Adults
seeking a deeper understanding of the basics of the Christian Faith are
invited to the next Discovery Class. This 9-session series is
useful both as an introduction to the Christian faith and as a review of
the fundamentals of Lutheran doctrine. Each 60 minute class session offers instruction from the Word
of God, excellent opportunities to make new friends in Christ, and a
great time to find out more about our ministry together at St.
Matthew. Come for review, to renew a sagging faith life, or to
find out about becoming a member of the congregation. Call the church office at 376-6168
for more information.

Our church has
been blessed by a recent building project.
An addition to the east side of our sanctuary included a larger
narthex, nursery, bathrooms and a new drive-up, drop-off entrance.
This additional room has given us needed space and better accessibility
to our facilities. We love it!
This
building campaign was titled, "Grafting On, Growing in Christ". Celebration
Sunday was held May 22, 2005 to kick off our project.
Groundbreaking took place Sunday, May 7, 2006.
Dedication Sunday was held February 18, 2007 with a special
10:00 a.m. celebration service and noon meal. If you would like a
DVD or VHS tape of the service, please contact the church office. The
Photo Gallery above contains pictures of our progress.
Many faithful and
generous people continue making regular Building Fund donations,
enabling us to see God’s hand at work in personal lives as trust grows
and people respond in love.
