Our Sunday School

The St. Luke's Sunday School is one of the most important ministries run by the St. Luke's-Emanuel parish. We provide quality Christian education for children between the nursery age to Sixth grade. Around 50 children attend our Sunday School program, which begins each Sunday morning at 9:30 am during the regular public school year. The day opens with music and singing, followed by the classes.

Our educational material is lectionary based, which means children study the same Bible lessons that appear in our worship service.  This helps them to better understand the texts in the worship setting.

Several times during the year, the Sunday School sponsors special events for families and students. These include children's choir anthems, special worship events during Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day, and a Seder meal on Palm Sunday. The largest of these events is our Christmas pageant, performed every year during the holiday season.
