News from Christian Education

On behalf of all the young people at St. John's I would like to thank those
who accepted the call to be teach our children. In Ephesians chapter
4:11-13 is says: Christ chose some of us to be apostles, prophets,
missionaries, pastors, and teachers, so that his people would learn to
serve and His body would grow strong. This will continue until we are
united by our faith and by our understanding of the Son of God. Then we
will be mature, just as Christ is, and we will be completely like Him.
Those called to be teachers are: Melinda McGohan, April Petry, Caitlyn
Wendeln, Stefanie Swartzlander, Kara Waitzman, Lydia Fletcher, Sue Weaver,
Megan Bettag, Denise Hermetz, Marlene Parot, Susan Svendsen, Lydia Siddens,
Erik Svendsen, Laurie Fletcher, Wendy Shelton, Gary and Cindy Snyder, Heike
Swartzlander, Melissa Ward, Julie Pratt, Pat Wabler, Tom Weaver and Lynne
Pfledderer. Many of you may answer the call to teach in the adult class. I
thank you as well. Please keep all the teachers in your prayers as they
work to teach God's word to our youth.

On October 29th we will be confirming four youth at the 11:00 service. I
would encourage all of you to share this day with them as they finish their
journey through confirmation and are welcomed as adult members in the
church. The new confirmands are: Katie Baker, Mark Hall, Kristen Patton,
and Ray Wendeln. There will be a reception following the service.
