A Message from Pastor Beverly
Dear Friends:
Because of dental surgery, a tuba player in a large philharmonic orchestra was unable to play for several weeks. He saw this as an opportunity to
actually sit down and listen to the famous orchestra. He reserved the best seat in the auditorium. He was thrilled as he heard the orchestra play.
Afterwards, he ran backstage and shouted, "You were wonderful. Do you know that for the first time I realized the symphony doesn't go
'oompah, oompha' oompha' all the time?" The tuba player had gotten a new perspective.
Sometimes we can lose perspective. We get caught up in our indispensability, thinking we're in control of our destinies. Thus, we worry. The truth of
the matter is we would have reason to worry if our destinies really did depend upon us.
Jesus makes it clear that we should not "worry". We should instead "seek His kingdom, and these things will be given to [us]." He reminds us that
we should at times stand back and see the world from a broader perspective. See that God has not abandoned His people. Be reminded that He loved His
people enough to rescue them from death, sin, and the power of the devil. When He arose, He made it clear, "I'll never leave you." The
one who loved us so much says, "Consider how the lilies grow. . . If that is how
God clothes the grass of the field, ... how much more will He clothe you."
Gods Blessing
